4…INTO ZION

It became clear to me now that we were moving at the speed of thought and that our fuel was our desire to meet with the Father. It was a burning love and desire for Him that allowed us to keep pressing deeper and deeper through the cosmos, past the darkness and the waves of radiant light, and into the eternal realms where we belonged. 78

We approached a wall which was like a translucent plane of crystal, shimmering with colors that went far beyond our earthly spectrum. 79 Our journey ended as we were enveloped in lightning and a thunder that shook us to the core. The thunder brought us to the other side. This thunder went beyond what was produced in the earth’s atmosphere, for it was not the result of terrestrial weather patterns. Instead of being produced by the updrafts and downdrafts of heat and cold, it was produced by the power of the Father’s eternal light triumphing over the darkness we were leaving behind in our travels.

As our journey continued, we began moving passed trees whose fruit shown with brilliant light and released an intoxicating fragrance, regenerating us to the core. 80 I wondered what it would be like to taste them, resolving to come back later to linger. I looked up and saw sky again, but much deeper and more beautiful than the sky on earth. It was similar to a turquoise stone, but far deeper in quality. 81 Everything here seemed more dense and substantial than anything on earth. Although the sky had a light of its own, you could still see a tapestry of stars shining in its canopy .

A wind began to blow across the landscape, and I heard silver wind chimes begin to release the sound of ringing bells. They were pleasantly musical and perfectly measured, reflecting both the beauty and drama of the moment. Droplets of rain were intermingled in the wind, refreshing us as we flew forward.

The sound of the wind chimes and the now distant eternal thunders were suddenly overshadowed by angelic voices, singing out in abandoned love to the One on the throne. These angels were different than the guardians, for each one’s beautiful appearance matched the intricacy of their song. As we approached, an angel turned to look at us with tears running down his face.

He stopped singing for a moment, and I asked him why he was crying.

“What we have waited for is beginning to happen. The Bride is making herself ready. 82 It is even more beautiful than we imagined, and for this we are praising the Father and the Son with a new song.” He started singing, and his voice was louder than anything I had ever heard. Mingled with multitudes of other voices, it sounded like the ebb and flow of ocean tides, only much louder. 83

As soon as I heard the ebb and flow of worship, my attention was drawn below the golden path we were flying on. A countless multitude of saints was gathered there, each one caught up in his own communion with the Lord.
